Mrs. Forseth

Hi! My name is Melissa Forseth and I live in Arena with my husband and our  fur-child. This is my 4th year teaching 5th grade here at St. John’s.

Fifth grade is a great year for students. They are becoming more independent and responsible. These are two qualities which I will help to develop so that they may flourish in middle school. Students will complete independent projects such as inquiry labs, book presentations, and writing compositions.  We are blessed to have access to 1:1 Chromebooks.  This allows students to complete more research/inquiry projects, enhance typing skills, play educational math and reading games, as well as get use to Google Apps which are an intricate part of middle school.

An honor and very important role fifth graders are part of is Safety Patrol. We believe that in fifth grade students are responsible enough to contribute to the safety of their peers by assisting groups in crossing the street.

To help keep parents and students updated on homework, upcoming events, and helpful resources, we have a classroom blog. Information found on the classroom blog, excluding homework, will also be found in our weekly classroom newsletter. Please visit this blog frequently. The link is as follows:

I look forward to having a great year with the St. John’s family!
