Mrs. Olson

My name is Amanda Olson and I live in Lone Rock with my husband, Steve, of 16 years and three children. Kelsey is a sophomore while Christopher and Isaiah are 7th graders this year.

I received my BS in Elementary Education from UW Platteville. I was very blessed to be able to stay home with my children when they were younger. I stayed home with them and had an in-home daycare for 7 years. Once my boys entered Kindergarten, I worked at Kinderplanet Preschool for 2 years where I actually met a lot of St. John’s families. After that, I was a substitute teacher for a year in the River Valley district, again subbing a lot at St. John’s getting to know everyone a little better. Finally, I was very honored to be offered a job in this wonderful school making this my fifth year teaching 2nd grade here and I’m very excited for another school year. I was welcomed here with open arms and it has been FABULOUS being a part of this school and its families.

Two of the most exciting things we will be experiencing this year is First Reconciliation and First Communion. Each student will have a book to go with each sacrament. Those books will go home every week so parents can see what we have been studying. Parents are encouraged to take time and review what we have learned with their child. They are children of God and being a part of this experience with them is something that both parents and child will remember for a lifetime!

I am looking forward to a great school year with wonderful students, phenomenal teachers, and amazing families.
